Brie Staples
Entrepreneur, Cat Mom, Sometimes Funny
I am a Creator.
To me, the word "artist" sounds limited to a category of art & entertainment. Though I am an artist, I want people to know that I can do so much more than paint a canvas.
I grew up in central Wisconsin and I have been a crafty soul for as long as I can remember. Growing up, the idea of being an artist for a living was just a joke. "Starving Artist" - there's no consistent income. Too much risk.
After many years of planning and a little intense saving, it's crazy to say I made it this far. I am fortunate enough to have my fiancé (Creative Director, Idea Guy, Hype Man, and moral support), Nick to have a flow of income while I establish myself. Nonetheless, I could not have gotten to this point without much encouragement and a butt load of determination.
Meet my Fur Children
-
Francis
(a.k.a. Frank, Frankie, Misa Frank)
Named after the much-fitting Deadpool quote, "Where's Francis?"
Since his adoption, guests have been able to confirm his existence after several brave appearances in the living room. We are very proud.
-
Hamilton
(a.k.a. Hammy, HAMMAH, Misa Ham)
Named a fancy name to fit the rest of the household (Frank & the fish, Sebastian, Kingsley, & Morty).
He has always been the adventure boy; willing to investigate new people especially if food is involved, explore the yard, and even play fetch.
"I will make all the things."
Besides trying to do what I love for a living, my goal here is to make a variety of products that will capture the eyes of my plant-loving, people tolerating friends. Obviously, we like to joke around here, but can you not wonder if there is a small level of sincerity in the quotes I pick??
We all struggle on a daily basis and I want to be able to remind you it's going to be okay; to stay strong and keep moving. And some days, I want to make you smile, (maybe throw in a good laugh?) and give you something to admire.
Some things I look forward to working on in the future are many more paintings, shirt designs, and plant hangers, as well as mastering the art of functional drinkware. Every now and then, I'll be throwing in the odds and ends home décor (i.e. the high quality crap you are all looking for). It just depends on what I'm in the mood for! Get off my back, gosh!
I cannot get far without the support of my friends, family, and community. I truly hope you enjoy what I make for you and I cannot wait to see where this adventure takes me.
